Il 12 agosto in Thailandia, in coincidenza con il compleanno della Regina, si festeggia la festa della mamma.

Ed è in questo giorno che Sofia sarebbe dovuta nascere e, invece, eccola lì, davanti a me, a dormire beata, con già sei giorni di vita sulle spalle. Tutto questo grazie, anche e soprattutto, a Lucija. Non avevo il minimo dubbio sul fatto che lei potesse essere un’ottima madre, ma ogni giorno che passa non fa altro che confermarmelo. E Sofia, in braccio a lei, è il massimo che potessi chiedere dalla vita. Credevo di essere già stato fortunato ad incontrare Lucija, ma adesso l’arrivo di Sofia mi fa pensare che non è solo per merito della fortuna che cose meravigliose come la nascita di un figlio succedono. Bisogna anche volerle. E organizzare la propria vita in modo da essere preparati quando queste cose arrivano.

Tra tutti i messaggi di affetto e di congratulazioni ricevuti, c’è chi mi ha scritto che Sofia è fortunata ad essere finita tra due genitori come me e Lucija. Ma sapeste come mi sento fortunato ad essere io tra loro due!

The 12th August in Thailand, the day of the Queen’s birthday, is also the day that Thais celebrate Mother’s Day.

And it’s on this day that Sofia was supposed to be born, but instead here she is, in front of me,  sleeping like an angel, with already six days of her life behind her. All of this thanks – also and above all – to Lucija. I didn’t have a single doubt about it, about the fact she could be a wonderful mother, and she confirms it day by day. And Sofia, in her arms, is the most I could ask from life. I believed to have been already lucky enough to have met Lucija, but now Sofia’s arrival made me think that it’s not only about luck that wonderful things as this happen. You have to want them aswell. And organize your life in a way that you’ll be prepared when these things arrive.

Among all the lovely messages of congratulations received, there’s someone that wrote how lucky Sofia is to end up between two great parents like me and Lucija. But if you only knew how lucky I feel to be in between the two of them!
